I just had a telephone conversation with a gentleman from Sinjoor Merksem, I kindly asked if I could make an offer of a certain amount for an appt. His response was “that's totally ridiculous” in a cheeky tone.
No one is forcing you to accept the offer, you can still politely say that the offer was low. Very rude! Never experienced anything like this before.

Had very bad experiences. They threaten with the peace court if you don't want to pay something that is actually for the landlord. The apartment got super dirty and now they are making a fuss about the extractor hood, which still felt a bit greasy even though we had completely cleaned it. If you had a comment about something being wrong, they either don't answer or are super unfriendly on the phone. Bad experience ever!
