Last Thursday we visited a villa in Ittre. The property for sale is managed by the IVA real estate agency. Even if the house does not meet all our criteria, we thank the young agent who served as our guide. He was very welcoming and very professional. We received all the answers to our questions. I have nothing against this agency itself but rather against one of their real estate agents and their practices.
My partner and I made our offers and counter-offers following the procedure and deadlines established by the agent (who confirmed to us that our offer was in the "final" with another). The owners' reflection period was extended by a few days and we waited patiently.
The following Monday, in the evening, said real estate agent called me to confirm that our offer was accepted by the majority of sellers. The next day, big surprise, we learned that the house had been sold to a member of the owners' family at an exorbitant price which he informed me, we made up our minds, it didn't matter.
After being contacted by one of the owners who was in the same misunderstanding as us, we realized that a lot of information did not match and that the property was sold at a price barely higher than ours and at perfect prices. strangers who did not seem to have followed the same procedure as us.
Knowing this, my partner contacted the agent again to try to understand why this offer had come out the same morning and the real sale price was not communicated to him (even though he had given me a visibly incorrect price just before), The agent even claims that the owners had shown the house on their own, which does not seem true. He therefore learns that we knew everything and finds himself totally caught up in his lie.
We accept not being chosen to acquire something we like, that's the "game", but in my opinion, this unfortunately smacks of cronyism. What a wonderful business practice 👍.
Even if this comment has no impact, I would at least have had the opportunity to express myself on this sad situation.
I would still like to point out that the contacts we were able to have with other stakeholders from this agency went very well and I thank them for their efficiency, their professionalism and their great kindness.
